Joe Gaiter: What does football mean to you?
Grant Kimberlin:Football to me is a lifestyle. It has got me into college as well as a college degree. I have been blessed to play this game for so many years and met so many people and made so many friends as well.
Joe Gaiter:Tell us about your season this year?
Grant Kimberlin:This past season was a very good one for my team. We started out the season going 0-3, but after those 3 losses we gathered together as a team and won 11 straight games. We made it into the NCAA D2 playoffs beating teams that no one thought we would beat. Eventually losing in the Final Four to Texas A&M Commerce who went on to win the National Championship.
Joe Gaiter:What makes you ready for the NFL?
Grant Kimberlin:I believe that the past 4 years of college football has prepared me for the NFL. I am a Junior College Transfer and have played against guys who are currently in the NFL. My abilities have developed over my college career from hard work and dedication.
Joe Gaiter:What are things that you feel you can improve on as an athlete?
Grant Kimberlin:I could improve my strength, route running, and my knowledge about the game.
Joe Gaiter:Describe yourself in 3 words.
Grant Kimberlin:Fast, Versatile, and Explosive. Being fast and explosive is necessary in order to make those big-time plays in any game situation. I am versatile, in that I can play at any position on the field in order to help my team win.
Joe Gaiter:What is your motivation for playing the game?
Grant Kimberlin: My size is my motivation. Being told all my life that I was too small to play college football and or not good enough. I have proved people wrong by actually playing 4 years of college football.
Joe Gaiter:Tell us about the bond you have with your teammates?
Grant Kimberlin:My teammates are my brothers. At Harding University, our motto is Brotherhood. We do not take that lightly and my teammates are like family. Our bond is unbreakable, through adversity we come closer.
Joe Gaiter:If you could go back to your freshman year, what would you do differently?
Grant Kimberlin:I would go back and pay close attention to the details in every drill and workout.
Joe Gaiter:What has your biggest accomplishment?
Grant Kimberlin:My biggest accomplishment would have to come from this past season. Losing the first 3 games of my senior season was hard but when adversity strikes, I stepped up and helped lead my team to 11 straight wins.
Joe Gaiter:Do you have a backup plan if you don’t make it to the NFL?
Grant Kimberlin:I plan on being a Graduate Assistant for a program and getting my masters and start getting into my coaching career.
Joe Gaiter:What are some things most people don’t know about you?
Grant Kimberlin:Family is very important to me. I can dunk a basketball. I have a committed relationship with Jesus Christ.
Joe Gaiter: Who is your agent and why did you choose them?
Grant Kimberlin:Currently do not have an agent.
Joe Gaiter:When is your pro day?
Grant Kimberlin:Date has not been officially set but sometime in middle of March.
Joe Gaiter:Where and how often are you training?
Grant Kimberlin:At my college and training every day.
Joe Gaiter: What do you want your legacy to be?
Grant Kimberlin:I want to be remembered as a man of great character and integrity, hard-working individual, and one who will go the extra mile for his friends and teammates.
Joe Gaiter:Final Words and Shoutouts?
