Malik Duncan: Football means the world to me, I think about it every day and night. Football is a way I can express my feelings because I’m so passionate about it especially competing I love to win and it means the most to me to win.
Joe Gaiter: When did you get started playing football?
Malik Duncan: 8 years old.
Joe Gaiter: How was your season this year?
Malik Duncan: This season was okay I was a Buck Buchanan Award Finalist, an All-America selection by College Sports Madness, HERO Sports, Phil Steele and STATS FCS. I finished the season also was named First Team All-NEC and became a Team captain at the beginning of the season I had 41 tackles, 28 solo, three interceptions, four pass breakups, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a QB hurry. I did not allow a touchdown catch in 28 straight games. I only Allowed only three catches against NEC opponents.
Joe Gaiter: What do you feel is your best qualities on and off the field?
Malik Duncan: My personality and just the way I think and approach things. I approach things with a winners mentality and just a happy way I do not like negative things I stay positive as much as I can.
Joe Gaiter: What will you miss most about playing college football?
Malik Duncan: I will miss the bus rides, I use to act like a goof that I use to brighten peoples day and just make people happy.
Joe Gaiter: Who would you compare your skill with that currently plays in the NFL?
Malik Duncan: I would say my skill set is different form people in the NFL because I can do so much and I can play any position in the secondary, Only thing I can say that i can compare is I’m around the same height as Tyrann Matheiu.
Joe Gaiter: What’s your football IQ?
Malik Duncan: I always have been smart when it came to football because I never was he most athletic so I had to win by being smart.
Joe Gaiter: How do you deal with losing?
Malik Duncan: It is very tough, I’m a winner I’m a competitor I hate to lose.
Joe Gaiter: Are you mentally prepared to go to the NFL?
Malik Duncan: Yes, I have been through so much and been at the bottom most of my life, I went through the stages where everyone loves you, to where everyone hates you, to where you don’t get any playing time, to where you play every play, to where you only play special teams. I have seen and done it all and it only made me feel better and become a better person.
Joe Gaiter: Who is your agent and why did you pick them?
Malik Duncan: Kelton Crenshaw, He is a hardworking on the rise guy from Cleveland and I just felt a great connection with him especially that he reached out to me and was interested not to many people where interested
Joe Gaiter: When is your proday?
Malik Duncan: It was March 12th.
Joe Gaiter: Where are you training to stay in shape?
Malik Duncan: Michael Johnson Performance Center in Texas.
Joe Gaiter: What is your plan B if you don’t make the NFL this season?
Malik Duncan: I do not want to sound rude but my plan B is to do everything in my power to make my plan A happen, but if those things do not workout I want to be a coach.
Joe Gaiter: What do you want your legacy yo be?
Malik Duncan: I want my legacy to be a guy who over came adversity,that came from the projects of Cleveland Ohio and was a late bloomer and ended up being a hall of famer in the NFL
