Malik Duncan: I did two pro days. One on March 12th (Cal U) and one on March 23 (Kent State University)
Joe Gaiter: How would you grade your performance at your proday?
Malik Duncan: I would give my first one a B and my second one a B+. I say that because it’s always room for improvement and I’m never satisfied I feel It’s always room to get better and do better.
Joe Gaiter: What was your motivation when you hit the field?
Malik Duncan: I just thought about my auntie that passed away recently, she was one of my biggest fans and kept up either everything I did on and off the field and I just think about how I want better for my family and to be the first one to ever make the pros.
Joe Gaiter: What were some of your numbers?
Malik Duncan: Ran a 4.66 40, 38 vertical, 9”10 broad , 21 reps of 225, 11.63 60 yard shuttle I haven’t got my L drill or 5-10-5 back or my 60 yard shuttle from Kent states pro day because I felt like those times where better than my Cal U results.
Joe Gaiter: Which NFL teams were represented at your proday
Malik Duncan: At Cal U there was the Falcons, Bengals, Steelers, and Colt. At Kent State there was the Browns, Cowboys, Packers, Cardinals, Rams, there were more I just can’t remember every one right now my apologies
Joe Gaiter: Do you feel like you trained well for your proday?
Malik Duncan: I feel I trained well I gave it everything I had. I came into training a little bit heavy but I lost a ton of weight and it definitely helped me out far as moving better.
Joe Gaiter: What would you have done differently?
Malik Duncan: I wouldn’t have done anything differently, some times you can’t have everything perfect but I’m a Fighter and that’s why I made it this far
Joe Gaiter: How does your agent feel about your performance?
Malik Duncan: He liked what I did.He feels I could of ran faster but it’s always room for improvement where not satisfied. I’m the most underrated corner in this draft. I’m hungry and I just have to stay ready.
Joe Gaiter: Do you have any private workouts/combines or CFL tryouts coming up?
Malik Duncan: I haven’t heard anything but once I find out I’ll be sure to let you know that for sure.
Joe Gaiter: Where are you training?
Malik Duncan: I will finish the remainder of my time training at school. I have to finish and get my degree
Joe Gaiter: What has been the biggest lesson you have learned throughout this process?
Malik Duncan: I just learned trust what you did far as preparing for the pro day. It’s very stressful but something I kept telling my self was Rome wasn’t built in one day just have to trust what you doing and believe it and also make sacrifices
Joe Gaiter: What message do you have for any NFL team reading this article?
Malik Duncan: I just ask for teams to take a more of a look at Me. I have great film I don’t give up 6 points or the deep ball, rarely give up catches but most importantly I’m a learner and a winner and I’m always trying to compete. I would say it is tough to find corners who are willing to take on linemen and make one on one tackles with backs, I just ask take more of a look at me please
Joe Gaiter: Final Words?
Malik Duncan: Remember the name in August. It will be a name that you will wish you knew earlier.
