Troy Grant: It means everything to me. I’ve been playing since youth league. It runs in my family. My dad Troy Hambrick played 5 years in the NFL, so did my Uncle Darren Hambrick.
Joe Gaiter: Tell me about your season this year?
Troy Grant: It didn’t go as planned. I set high standards for myself. I didn’t reach them but it’s not because I didn’t put the work in. I can only control what I can control.
Joe Gaiter: How hungry are you to make the NFL?
Troy Grant: I’m very hungry, I been grinding my whole life to just get a opportunity to showcase my talent. I’ve been through a lot of stuff so I’m anxious to tell my story.
Joe Gaiter: What will you miss most about playing college ball?
Troy Grant: I’ll miss the little things. Things like getting ready for practice in the locker room listening to music, also the bus rides & at the hotel bonding & laughing with one another.
Joe Gaiter: What would you tell yourself if you could go back to your freshman year?
Troy Grant: I went to junior college first. So I would tell myself control what you can control. If it’s meant to be it will happen.
Joe Gaiter: Why should a team pick you over someone that plays your same position?
Troy Grant: I don’t only receive I block. I can get in at slot for mix matches or to block linebackers. Or come out the backfield.
Joe Gaiter: Have you reached your athletic peak?
Troy Grant: I am nowhere near it. What you see on tape is a glimpse.
Joe Gaiter: What is your motivation on the field?
Troy Grant: I think about my family. I just want us to see better days. These last two years been rough. I feel like I’m the one who can change things.
Joe Gaiter: Do you have a backup if you don’t get drafted?
Troy Grant: Keep grinding until a team calls me.
Joe Gaiter: Who is your agent and why did you chose them?
Troy Grant: Logan Brown & he was very straight forward with me and honest. We connected from the start.
Joe Gaiter: Where and how often are you training?
Troy Grant: Ocala, Florida at Healthy Hart fitness. I’m training Mon – Saturday.
Joe Gaiter: When are your pro days?
Troy Grant: March 22nd & March 31st at Texas a&m commerce
Joe Gaiter: What do you want your legacy to be?
Troy Grant: I want people to talk highly about my character, Work ethic, determination to be great.
