Tre Long: Football has taught me so much that has helped me in life. It also saved my life.
Joe Gaiter: When did you begin to play football?
Tre Long: When I was seven, I hated it at first I only wanted to play basketball , but I became good at it so.
Joe Gaiter: Why did you transfer to Shaw University from NC A&T?
Tre Long: Academics! Partying and stuff. I started as a redshirt freshman at A&T.
Joe Gaiter: How does it feel to be Shaw University’s all-time receptions leader and 2nd all-time in yards?
Tre Long: It’s an honor. Never thought I’d break any schools records. But that’s what you grind for.
Joe Gaiter: What are keys in playing Wide Receiver?
Tre Long:Getting in and out your routes is what’s most important to me. I’m not a 4.4 guy, but I’m quick and it will surprise most DBs.
Joe Gaiter: What are some of your fondest memories about playing for Shaw U?
Tre Long: Beating Winston Salem when they were 8-1 and we were 0-9. I caught the game winner in overtime.
Joe Gaiter: What is your untold story?
Tre Long: When I was growing up around 12-13, my mother and I were homeless for years. She was everything for me, couldn’t ever repay her enough. I also never have got an wide receiver accolade on any level, besides the records.
Joe Gaiter: What advice do you have for 2019 NFL Draft prospects?
Tre Long: Train for speed and flexibility. Get an agent who actually cares for you and is a hard worker.
Joe Gaiter: Do you have an agent?
Tre Long: Yes, I do. I’m with G6 agency.
Joe Gaiter: What is next for you and your career?
Tre Long: I’m playing pro Arena Football right now for the Carolina Havoc. I plan on getting film and trying my shot back in the NFL.
Joe Gaiter: Where and with who are training with to stay healthy?
Tre Long: Our team has a gym called Extremes Fitness in Florence, SC. When I go back to Shaw, I train with Wayne Hall.
Joe Gaiter: What is something that any team looking at you should know?
Tre Long: It’s never about me. It’s always about the team. & I’m a lot quicker then I look.
Joe Gaiter: What is your motivation?
Tre Long: The things I’ve been through in life & my mother’s sacrifice to give me a better life. Also being underrated all of college.
Joe Gaiter: What do want your legacy to be?
Tre Long: Hard worker who never gave up on his dreams.

Tre Long: With God on your side you can do anything you ever wanted.
