Joe Gaiter: What does football mean to you?
Tevin Spells:Football mean a lot to me. Having a 1 year old daughter, football have to pay the bills one day. I put my all into the grind because I’m grinding hard now so my daughter can live a better life then I did growing up financially.
Joe Gaiter:Tell me bout your season this year?
Tevin Spells:This season was a good one. My run efficiency was 100% and I played all special teams. I also was a team captain before every game walking out for the coin toss that was a blessing.
Joe Gaiter: What will you miss about playing ball at FAMU?
Tevin Spells: I mostly will just miss playing with my teammates, we created a bond that no one can break and they are still building chemistry this year.
Joe Gaiter: How hungry are you for success?
Tevin Spells:VERY HUNGRY! I have been playing this sport too long to give up. I will never give up on my dreams of becoming a NFL player. I’m so hungry for success I can’t wait to prove my doubters wrong.
Joe Gaiter:If you could go back to freshman year, what would have you done differently?
Tevin Spells: Freshman year I would have loved if I learned the game mentally., I was out there knocking opponents out and scoring touchdowns just off of athletic ability. By the time I as a senior everything was about technique.
Joe Gaiter:Who is your agent and why did you sign with them?
Tevin Spells: Seth Needleman with Finesse Sports is my agent. I chose him because he was very honest to me and straight forward. He also have a great personality and when he took me in everything just felt like family.
Joe Gaiter:What is your motivation?
Tevin Spells:My motivation is my daughter hands down . My princess is my everything and as long as she is by my side that is all the motivation I need. Being a father can have you beyond focused when you are chasing your dream.
Joe Gaiter:Tell me about the Lowlife movement?
Tevin Spells: Lowlife: Lack Of Worries Living In Fearless Efforts. This movement was created by one of my good friends Kenneth Myers everyone calls him KJ. It is basically a movement that motivates to let go of all your problems and let God handle them. Keep God 1st & just grind. This movement is Worldwide and motivates all young athletes over the country.
Joe Gaiter:Did you ever think that so many athletes would be repping your brand?
Tevin Spells:I never would have imagined this but I never question God’s timing. It is a blessing to have half the worlds top athletes repping the LOWlife.
Joe Gaiter:If you don’t get drafted, what is your plan?
Tevin Spells:My plans would be to franchise in Chick-fil-A all over the world. I have my degree in Criminal Justice so I can also become a community police in my neighborhood to stop crimes and mentor the youth.
Joe Gaiter:When is your proday and where are you training at to stay ready?
Tevin Spells:Pro day is undecided for FAMU but I will be doing my pro day at FIU and FAU. I am training at Impact Sports down in Delray Beach FL.
Joe Gaiter:What do you want your legacy to be?
Tevin Spells: I just want to be remembered as one of the most humble and hardworking individuals these coaches have ever saw in the NFL!
Joe Gaiter:What is a message that you have for the team that does draft you?
Tevin Spells: “Thanks for the opportunity & you won’t regret it”. As soon as I get to whatever team that picks me up I will let my grind do the talking. Coming from a smaller school I have a big chip on my shoulder and I cant wait to compete!
