Joe Gaiter: What does football mean to you?
Damon Jones: Without football I would not have made it to where I am in life today. Football has always been away for me to get out of my life and just play.
Joe Gaiter: What will you miss most about playing college ball?
Damon Jones: I will miss playing college ball because of my teammates. The guys I played with these past four years will always be my brothers and they have helped me overcome some of the most adversity I ever have encountered.
Joe Gaiter: What is your motivation for playing the game?
Damon Jones: My grandma and my little sister are the things that mean the most to me in this life. They motivate me to be the best athlete I can be on a daily basis along with that comes me being a better man.
Joe Gaiter: Tell us about your season this year?
Damon Jones: This past season was one for the books for me because I painted my name in the Muskingum University record books and I left a legacy here that will not soon be forgotten. Our record did not turn out how we wanted it to be but it was an honor to be a captain on this team and being someone they called their leader.
Joe Gaiter: What makes you ready for the NFL?
Damon Jones: I am NFL ready because of how I play and because off the field. I know what right and wrong is and I know how to control myself when I am on the big stage. I can make plays down the field along with the underneath stuff so I feel that I have all of the intangibles it takes to play at the next level.
Joe Gaiter: Do you have any regrets over your college career?
Damon Jones: I do not have any regrets throughout my college career.
Joe Gaiter: Describe yourself in 3 words.
Damon Jones: Positive, Explosive, Leader
Joe Gaiter: If you could go back to your freshman year, what would you do differently?
Damon Jones: If I could go back to my freshman year the only thing I would change is my relationship with my coaches. I would make sure to get closer with them and pick their brains more sooner.
Joe Gaiter: What separates you from other athletes that play your same position?
Damon Jones: My hands, IQ, and route running separates me from others that play my position. I can read a defense pre and post snap if they decide to roll to coverage or disguise it pre snap.
Joe Gaiter: What has your biggest accomplishment?
Damon Jones: My biggest accomplishment is probably putting myself in the top 3 of every receiving category here at Muskingum University. I am very proud of the fact that I have my name in these books here forever.
Joe Gaiter: Do you have a backup plan if you don’t make it to the NFL?
Damon Jones: My backup plan is to take my degree and begin working with children within the child and family services department.
Joe Gaiter: When is your proday?
Damon Jones: I have not yet scheduled a date for my proday.
Joe Gaiter: Where and how often are you training?
Damon Jones: I am training 6 days a week here at Muskingum.
Joe Gaiter: Final Words?
