Joe Gaiter: What does football mean to you?
Denzel Bradford: Football means the absolute world to me. It serves as an escape to all of the things in the world that I just rather not be involved in.
Joe Gaiter: Tell me about your season this year?
Denzel Bradford: This season was definitely my most productive season since I’ve been in college. I was moved to a different position this season and it was fairly different, but after I got used to it. It became somewhat of a second nature.
Joe Gaiter: How hungry are you to make the NFL?
Denzel Bradford: The NFL has always been a dream of mine since I was a child. The thought of not making it truly scares me. I prayed for a chance to play at the NFL level, and I continue this prayer on a daily. I just need one opportunity.
Joe Gaiter: What will you miss most about playing college ball?
Denzel Bradford: I will definitely miss the bond that I’ve created with my teammates throughout my college years.
Joe Gaiter: What would you tell yourself if you could go back to your freshman year?
Denzel Bradford: I would tell myself that regardless of where you are in life give everything you’ve got in every situation. One day all the pain and hard times will pay off.
Joe Gaiter: Why should someone pick you over someone that plays your same position?
Denzel Bradford: I should be picked because I’m not going to quit. Win, lose, or draw I will go out and give you all that I have. I’m willing to go the extra step to make something positive happen. Every athlete isn’t like that.
Joe Gaiter: Have you reached your athletic peak?
Denzel Bradford: No, I have not reached my athletic peak. I feel healthy and I know that I can get better with the right training.
Joe Gaiter: What is your motivation on the field?
Denzel Bradford: My motivation is to beat the guy across from me. Also, I know I have people watching me and supporting me, and I don’t want to be an embarrassment to them.
Joe Gaiter: Do you have a backup if you don’t get drafted?
Denzel Bradford: If I don’t get drafted, I want to go into teaching and coaching. I just want to be a positive influence on the generations to come.
Joe Gaiter: Where and how often are you training?
Denzel Bradford: I train here at Wayland Baptist University. I train in the evenings generally, sometimes if I’m free during the day I’ll go ahead and train. I train Monday-Friday majority of the time, but if I miss a day for some reason I will make it up on Saturday.
Joe Gaiter: Tell me about your proday.
Denzel Bradford: My proday went fairly well. I surprised myself and a few of the scouts I think. I wasn’t one of the big time guys originally, but I think there were a few times I stood out. Overall, it was a great experience and tons of talent there.
Joe Gaiter: What do you want your legacy to be?
Denzel Bradford: I want my legacy to be someone who lead by example. I want to be someone who doesn’t look like what they’ve been through. Someone kids look at and see a positive role model and not just a football player.
Joe Gaiter: Final Words/Shoutouts?
Denzel Bradford: First, I want to give God all the praise, without him this would be nonexistent. Also, my family across America that has supported me endlessly. I want to thank Wayland Baptist University for the opportunity to play football and receive an amazing education. I want to say thank you to the small group of people who pushed me on a daily to be the best I could possibly be. Also, my hometown of Huntsville, Texas for keeping up with me throughout my years of college football. #LONGLIVECHAMP
