Kalias Robertson, Undrafted Free Agent, Interview with Joe Gaiter

Joe Gaiter: What is your football story?

Kalias Robertson: I’ve been playing football since freshman year of high school and fell in love with it. So everyday I worked my butt off trying to better myself for the next game. I use leave my weight room late nights because I was so committed.

Joe Gaiter: Remind us of your college career stats? Proday Stats?

Kalias Robertson: I ended my college career with 40 receptions 550 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. Pro day I had great numbers for a tight end with 18 reps on bench and 4.66 and 4.68 40 yard dash.

Joe Gaiter: Why do you feel you were overlooked?

Kalias Robertson: I really don’t know why I’m being overlooked other than that I played at a small school but however I see small schools getting a shot and I really think I deserve one.

Joe Gaiter: How was it getting hoax during the draft? Tell me what happened and how they reached out to you.

Kalias Robertson: I got hoaxed during the draft with two teams, jets and the Green Bay packers. I got messages saying they are interested in me and will contact my agent ASAP.  It kind of hurt me but I continue to push every day and never gave up because I know God has my back through it all. Everyday I do something football related to make sure I better myself.

Joe Gaiter: How has your agent helped you in your journey?

Kalias Robertson: My agent keeps me motivated knowing I’m a great ball player and really trying to make sure I get my shot. I’m still training at my school working out mostly 5 days a week.

Joe Gaiter: Why should any team give you a chance?

Kalias Robertson: I think teams should give me a shot because I’m a very hard worker and will and will do anything to get my job done. Also, not only am I a tight end but also plays great on special teams and have film to back it up. Even though I may be a little undersized I’m strong and long enough to take on DEs and linebackers and win those battles, also I’m a great threat at tight end with my speed.

Joe Gaiter: Final Words.

Kalias Robertson: I’m going to continue to believe in myself and I’m not going to give up because I know God won’t give up on me.
