Kelias Williams: Football means a lot to me. It has always allowed me to get away from all my problems.
Joe Gaiter: Where did you grow up and how was your childhood?
Kelias Williams: I grew up in Barwick, GA. My childhood was good, surrounded by family and friends who always wanted the best out of me.
Joe Gaiter: What or who inspired you to play sports?
Kelias Williams: I My brother Pj Williams and cousin Erik Walden inspired me to play football.
Joe Gaiter: What are some of your fondest memories about Thomas County Central?
Kelias Williams: My fondest memory about Thomas County would be when we defeated Thomasville Bulldogs, went to show how great of a team we were.
Joe Gaiter: Why did you choose Albany State?
Kelias Williams: I chose Albany State because it was closer to home and I built a relationship with the coaches.
Joe Gaiter: What were some of your stats this year?
Kelias Williams: Due to my injury I didn’t put up great stats, I only threw for 600 yards and rushed for 200.
Joe Gaiter: You were so close in winning the SIAC Championship this year. What went wrong?
Kelias Williams: We indeed were close to winning the SIAC championship but I feel we failed at execution and adjustments.
Joe Gaiter: How are you preparing during the off-season?
Kelias Williams: I recently have been moved to running back, so I’m just working on getting my pad level low, increase my speed, slim down a little and working on my pass protection.
Joe Gaiter: What is the football culture like at ASU during home games?
Kelias Williams: When we have a pack crowd and the stadium is behind us, there is no better feeling. Nothing like hearing the “ram buck”.
Joe Gaiter: What has been some of your greatest athletic accomplishments over the years?
Kelias Williams: Since entering college, I haven’t shown anything on the field to get any acknowledgements but I promise it will be different this year round.
Joe Gaiter: Tell us about your clothing line 1Hunnit?
Kelias Williams: I recently started a clothing line named “1Hunnit”. I’ve always wanted to do it so once I got the right people around me I felt it was time to do it.
Joe Gaiter: What inspired you to create a line?
Kelias Williams: I got the name from my instagram name, after making it I’m like yeah that will be a good clothing line name.
Joe Gaiter: Do you feel like the underdog?
Kelias Williams: I know I’m an underdog but I never let it get too me, because hard work never goes unnoticed.
Joe Gaiter: Who are some other athletes we should look out for?
Kelias Williams: I honestly think we’re loaded this year. In my opinion I think my brother Tori Sapp is going to have a big year. I see him work every day and I know that nobody is working as hard as him, not even me so I’m trying to get on his level.
Joe Gaiter: What is your major and how do you plan on using it?
Kelias Williams: My major is business management. I plan to coach football but I always wanted to be an entrepreneur and I felt this was the right field for me to go into.
Joe Gaiter: What is your untold story?
Kelias Williams: I honestly don’t have an untold story because what you see is what you get.
Joe Gaiter: Final Words?
Kelias Williams: SIAC, I’m coming.
