Kenneth Williams Jr: Football means everything to me. It’s my first love.
Joe Gaiter: How did you start off playing sports?
Kenneth Williams Jr: I come from an athletic background, so it was second nature.
Joe Gaiter: Why did you choose to go to Lane College?
Kenneth Williams Jr: I chose to attend Lane College because it was my last hope of attending college coming out of high school due to my GPA and ACT score.
Joe Gaiter: This season starting with a 0-2 start, what can your team do to turn this around?
Kenneth Williams Jr: We just have to continue to gel together, play hard and with discipline.
Joe Gaiter: What are keys in winning against Albany State next week?
Kenneth Williams Jr: We can beat Albany if we trust the game plan , execute, and limit mistakes.
Joe Gaiter: What is your role on the team this year?
Kenneth Williams Jr: The captain, leading verbally and by example, also motivating everyone and keeping us on the same page.
Joe Gaiter: How do you feel the competitiveness of HBCU football is now days?
Kenneth Williams Jr: HBCU is very competitive. There are a lot of talented athletes and great coaches.
Joe Gaiter: Is there any game this year you are really looking forward to this season?
Kenneth Williams Jr: I am looking forward to every Game this year, but Tuskegee being the main game.
Joe Gaiter: Besides yourself, who are some other athletes to look out for on your team?
Kenneth Williams Jr: We’re loaded with talent, so the entire team.
Joe Gaiter: Have you thought about life after Lane College? Will you pursue pro football?
Kenneth Williams Jr: Of course, the future is what’s important. Yes, I plan on entering the NFL draft after this season.
Joe Gaiter: Do you have any regrets?
Kenneth Williams Jr: I don’t have any regrets. I believe that everything happens for a reason.
Joe Gaiter: What is your motivation on the field?
Kenneth Williams Jr: My motivation on the field is thinking about making plays so that it can better my chances of making it to the next level.
Joe Gaiter: What is something most people don’t know about you?
Kenneth Williams Jr: I don’t eat yams.
Joe Gaiter: Do you have a good support system around you?
Kenneth Williams Jr: Yes, my family and friends are very supportive.
Joe Gaiter: What do you want your legacy to be?
Kenneth Williams Jr: The best player to ever attend Lane College, a top shut down corner and most importantly a god fearing man.
