Eddie Maxon Jr: Football means everything to me.
Joe Gaiter: Where did you grow up and how was your childhood?
Eddie Maxon Jr: I grew up in Shelby, MS. My childhood was straight I can say.
Joe Gaiter: What are some of your fondest memories about playing at South Panola High School?
Eddie Maxon Jr: The memory we created with our accomplishments.
Joe Gaiter: What is your motivation on the field?
Eddie Maxon Jr: My daughter and my mom.
Joe Gaiter: Why did you choose Jackson State?
Eddie Maxon Jr: To become apart of a change.
Joe Gaiter: Jackson State was 4-8 this year. What went wrong?
Eddie Maxon Jr: We beat ourselves. We wasn’t together like how we should have been.
Joe Gaiter: Do you feel like the OLine and DLine gets enough credit for their contribution to the game of football?
Eddie Maxon Jr: You get credit when credit is due.
Joe Gaiter: Tell us about the gameday atmosphere at JSU.
Eddie Maxon Jr: One thing I can say is the atmosphere in Jackson is amazing specially the fans just seeing them supporting us and being at all games is something special.
Joe Gaiter: Was it a hard decision to leave JSU?
Eddie Maxon Jr: It wasn’t an hard decision at all but they did what they had to do, so did I.
Joe Gaiter: Why are you transferring to Alabama A&M University?
Eddie Maxon Jr: It was a good fit for me.
Joe Gaiter: The Swac has postponed the 2020 football season due to the fear of Covid-19. Has this affected you mentally?
Eddie Maxon Jr: No, this haven’t affected me mentally.
Joe Gaiter: What advice do you have for athletes having a rough time during this time of uncertainty?
Eddie Maxon Jr: Keep grinding don’t let this pandemic stop you for being great!
